BITUMAT PREMIERFLEX-4000 is a superior high performance, pre-fabricated, SBS Modified Bitumen Membrane, consisting of proprietary waterproofing compound re-inforced with spunbonded non-woven polyester mat.
The Bitumat proprietary waterproofing compound is formulated with select aromatic plasticized bitumen and modified with Styrene Butadiene Styrene rubber (SBS) for optimum elasticity and flexibility at extremely low temperatures. The compound is further enhanced with unique opaque Mineral Stabilizers (MS) to improve heat, Ultra Violet (UV) and impact resistance. The superior waterproofing compound is then fabricated with a robust, isotropic, spun-bonded, non-woven, polyester mat for increased strength, toughness and dimensional stability that can resist fatigue, rupture and thermal shock cracking.
The proprietary compound, the unique reinforcement, combined with the famous BITUMAT process technology and rigid quality assurance procedures, yields one of the most reliable and dependable waterproofing membrane available.
BITUMAT PREMIERFLEX-4000 is a general purpose waterproofing membrane and is excellent in multi-layer or single layer roofing system. When surfaced with granular slate, BITUMAT PREMIERFLEX-4000 is ideal as an exposed top layer. Also ideal for underground waterproofing systems. When superior performance is required, BITUMAT PREMIERFLEX-4000 is the answer, especially in extreme cold climates.
BITUMAT PREMIERFLEX-4000 is installed by torch welding method, loose-laid or fully bonded to substrate. When loose-laid, only overlaps are bonded together. Peripheries and protrusions are sealed according to specifications.
(Rate may vary as per site requirement)
Flat areas : 1.15 M2 /M2 per layer with 10 cms. side laps and 15 cms. end laps. Base flashing : 100x35 cms. with 15 cm. end laps, 0.40 M2 / linear Mtr. Average wastage : 3 - 5 %The underside of the membrane should be torched just enough to superficially melt the bitumen. Excessive heating may damage the re-inforcement.
Overlaps should be re-heated from the top and resealed with a trowel to ensure seam integrity.
For details of installation methods and flashing requirements, consult the relevant BITUMAT Systems Design and Installation Manual.
Bitumat was founded in 1984 but its roots go back to 1975 when the founders became involved in the roofing waterproofing industry as dealer and applicator in Saudi Arabia for a major manufacturer from the U.S.A.
