BITUMAT BITUTAPE HD is a range of selfadhesive, cold applied waterproofing tape. It is a rust prevention and anti-corrosion pipewrapping tape that provides a tough, flexible protection to pipes for both covered and exposed applications. The compound is extruded on a tough, flexible PVC carrier.
BITUMAT BITUTAPE HD compound is a viscoelastic heavy duty bituminous rubber. The compound provides self-sealing at joints longitudinally and end of roll overlaps and is highly resistant to cathodic disbondment, moisture and the common chemicals found in the ground.
BITUMAT BITUTAPE HD is designed for use on buried and submarine line pipe, field welds, fabrications, bends and fittings, as well as waterproofing, flashing details, duct protection.
Subject to alteration for specific project recommendations as necessary.
Surface to be thoroughly cleaned to remove rust, mill scale, weld spatter, dirt and other loose or deleterious matter. Dry, clean, prepared surface to be primed by brush with one thin continuous coat of BITUMAT BITUTAPE primer (quickdrying) which must be allowed to dry completely. Peel back the siliconized paper from the first 225 mm of BITUMAT BITUTAPE HD and placing sticky compound face to the pipe begin wrapping, removing siliconized and employing tension to achieve comfortability and intimate adhesion.Longitudinal overlap should be 25mm or greater according to specification and end laps a minimum of 150mm.
