BITUSEAL 1500 CLX - VR is a self-adhesive, extremely flexible waterproofing membrane. The elastic self-adhesive, SBS Modified bitumen compound is reinforced with rotproof 50 – 60 GSM Glassfiber matt backed with a Cross Laminated HDPE Film resulting in outstanding physical properties making Bituseal 1500 CLX - VR as one of the most rugged self-adhesive membranes. The advanced carrier film is manufactured by cross laminating and chemically bonding the layer together.
BITUSEAL 1500 CLX - VR is ideal for damp proofing, foundations, bridges, viaducts and other sub-grade applications.
When used with Bitumat water-stops cast into the concrete shell, it will provide a high performance, chemically resistant and fully continuous waterproofing / tanking system for basement and sub-structures
Measures should be taken to ensure that all surfaces are free from ice, frost or condensation. Installation is recommended between +5°C and +50°C.
All surfaces to receive Bituseal 1500 CLX - VR shall be smooth, regular, dry, free from nails and primed with one coat of Bitumat Primer applied by brush or roller at a rate of 3 - 4 sqm/liter depending on the porosity o the surface, and allowed to dry completely before the application of the Bitumat Bituseal 1500 CLX - VR.
Bitumat Bituseal 1500 CLX - VR shall be laid by peeling back the protective release paper and applying the adhesive face onto the prepared surface. The material should be brushed on to the surface to ensure good initial bond.
Adjacent rolls are aligned and overlapped minimum 50 mm at side laps and 100 mm at end laps and well rolled with a firm pressure using a Roller to ensure complete adhesion and continuity between the layers. In cool conditions, the application of the gentle heat between layers by hot air gun or soft flame will assist promoting adhesion at lap joints. Care to be taken that no wrinkles are formed.
